How do you pay on Amazon? - That's how it's done

  1. Register at Amazon and set up a customer account. You also enter your bank details here, because Amazon only pays via bank debits and credit cards.
  2. Find the item you want to order. Take a look at the individual offers by clicking on "Available from these sellers" or "xx new" and "xx used". It is often cheaper to order directly from Amazon when shipping is free. Because the private and commercial dealers, who may offer the item cheaper, have to charge shipping costs of at least 3 euros.
  3. Also, pay attention to the reviews the seller received. Almost no one has 100% there. A very good average rating is around 97%, which would be fatal on ebay.
  4. Click "Add to Cart". Here you can now see an overview of the reserved articles. Now continue with your purchase or click on "Proceed to checkout". Confirm your shipping address. The overview of your items to be ordered appears again.
  5. When asked "How would you like to pay?" you can now choose from which account the amount will be debited or which credit card will be used to pay. If you have received a gift voucher, enter the code here. However, this only works for orders directly from Amazon, since the retailers do not issue the vouchers, but Amazon itself.
  6. Set up an Amazon seller account

  7. Click on "Order". You will immediately receive by e-mail a confirmation.

How to sell as a private seller

  1. Log into your Amazon account.
  2. Find the item that you would like to sell yourself. Compare all the data exactly: the date of publication, for books the edition, the page number and the ISBN number, for CDs the individual songs and the label. If your article deviates slightly in one point, for example the illustration on the envelope, list the article as a collector's item and describe the deviation as precisely as possible.
  3. Click on "Sell this item". Now state the condition of your copy as well as any special features, for example an original autograph or any damage. Be very specific here, because Amazon customers tend to be overly critical.
  4. Click on “Hire Now”.
  5. To get an overview of the items you are offering, click on "Seller Account" and then on "Show Current Offers" under "Manage Inventory".

Shopping at Amazon is very easy, you pay by direct debit or credit card. Gift vouchers are also possible. As a private seller, you can only post items on Amazon that are already listed.
