Find the causes of a projector image that flickers
A well-known problem with beamers is the flickering of the picture. There are some steps you can take to remedy the situation.
- Can you find out if only the picture is flickering or the menu too? If the menu does not wobble and looks normal, the lamp cannot be the cause.
- Check cable and connections. It is possible that loose contacts or damaged cables are responsible for the flickering. Shut down all devices, reconnect them and test whether the fault still occurs.
- Try to replace the player, i.e. the device through which you feed the projector, and check whether the picture is still flickering. One possible reason for flickering is that the devices are not synchronized. A changed refresh rate could possibly lead to an improvement.
- The picture flickering can also indicate a defective lamp. Replacing the lamp will fix the problem immediately.
- You may be able to solve the problem by using a different outlet. However, this only makes sense if the circuits function independently of one another and the projector is not disturbed by the operation of another electronic device.
