Each type of beer has a different number of calories

The statement "beer is not the same as beer "not only applies to the appearance and taste of a beer, but also applies to the calorie content of the various types of beer.

  • Alcohol-free beer has the fewest calories. Depending on whether you drink a wheat or a beer, half a liter has an average of 100 calories or 125 calories.
  • Just a little more calories (approx. 170) you would with half a liter of Radler, i.e. a mix of beer and lemonadeto consume, with a cola beer it would already be 210 calories.
  • A 0.5 liter glass of normal Pils or Altbier, i.e. a dark, top-fermented beer, has a similar number of calories (205).
  • A normal wheat beer and the dark Irish beer "Guinness" with 215 calories each contain a little more calories per 0.5 liter.
  • Which has more calories, beer or wine? - Interesting facts about popular alcoholic beverages

A glass of beer or wine in the evening is part of everyday enjoyment for many, but how many ...

  • It has almost exactly twice as many calories as a non-alcoholic pilsner Malt beer (245 calories).
  • You would consume the most calories with half a liter of the spicy and strong beer types "Starkbier" (300 calories) or "Bockbier" (305 calories).

Beer in moderation is healthy and by itself not fattening up

Even if there are relatively many calories in some types of beer, this does not necessarily mean that you have to do without a good after-work beer.

  • Although people like to talk about a "beer belly" when they consume beer regularly, in most cases, with moderate consumption, this is not due to the beer alone.
  • Compared to other beverages, a beer either has the same number of calories (compared to Apple juice) or even significantly fewer calories (compared to Winewhich has 350 to 400 calories per 0.5 liter).
  • The real problem with enjoying beer is that the ingredients in beer are malt, Hops and alcohol stimulate the appetite, which is why you like to add something salty or fatty eats. And it is precisely these dishes that lead to an unbalanced diet nourishment, possibly to the so-called beer belly.
  • On the other hand, beer also contains a lot of important minerals, vitamins and trace elements such as iron, calcium, folic acid or vitamins B6 and B12. However, you shouldn't overdo it with drinking beer, as this can damage the liver or even lead to a heart attack or stroke. It is therefore recommended not to drink more than one beer (0.5 liters) a day, although you could of course drink more with a non-alcoholic beer.
  • For athletes in particular, an alcohol-free beer is a delicious and, above all, healthy thirst quencher after an intensive training session.
