Sky receiver does not start anymore
You are probably familiar with the following problem: You have been looking forward to a special film on Sky for some time, but now the receiver no longer starts. What can be the reason and how can you still save the movie night?
Reasons for not starting the Sky receiver
Since a Sky receiver is a highly technical device, like any other electronic device, it can cause difficulties. This is especially annoying when you are focusing on a specific film or on e.g. B. have enjoyed the Bundesliga and maybe even Invited friends to look. So why can it be that your Sky receiver no longer wants to start?
- The most likely reason for this is that there was a software error in an update that was started before. This is usually the case if you have not switched on the receiver for a long time and it now has to catch up on all the updates and is now overwhelmed. In the event of a software error, however, the indicator lights on the front of the receiver are on and usually glow red.
- However, if nothing is lit then it may be a hardware problem and you probably cannot fix this on your own. In these cases, it is best to call customer service immediately to make an appointment with a technician or possibly get a replacement device.
Tips if the receiver does not start anymore
However, there are a few things you can try to restore the receiver and save your movie night. The first thing to do is to take the Sky receiver, which no longer starts, from the network and wait a few seconds. Then plug the plug back into the socket and try to start the device repeatedly. Often this procedure can get the receiver to start again. If it still does not start, check all of them cablewhether they are connected correctly and have no loose contacts. If this can also be ruled out, all you can do is call Sky.
