In a decision, the Fulda District Court compared the installation with that of a parasol and allowed the installation (Az. 3 C 1150/98).

Your legitimate interest in information requires exception

• As an exception, the landlord may not prohibit the installation of a satellite dish on the roof if you have a particular interest in receiving additional programs.
• The courts grant a foreigner living in Germany the right, despite an existing one Cable connection by means of a satellite dish to receive television channels in their home country above cable cannot be received.
