  • In order to calculate the actual power consumption, you must find out about the power consumption of the device on the type plate of your refrigerator. There you will find information about 120 W. This means that the refrigerator has a power consumption of 0.12 KW / h in one hour.
  • Now it is the case that the cooling unit is not permanently in operation. As a rule, the cooling compressor only runs for a few minutes in the refrigerator and then switches off again. Of course, no energy is consumed when the unit is not running.
  • Therefore, you would theoretically have to use a stopwatch to stop the times when the compressor in the refrigerator is running. You would have to do this over several hours. Then you know exactly how many minutes the refrigerator has used electricity within a few hours.
