  • Pans with a thermoplastic non-stick coating, which are often also referred to as Teflon pans, are mostly made of aluminum. These can normally be put in the dishwasher without any major problems. Nevertheless, due to the varying surfaces of different manufacturers, you should read this again in the instructions for use.
  • In addition to pans with a coated surface, stainless steel pans are also very popular in the home. These are even easier to care for (if they have no coating), as they do not have a surface that can be easily scratched. They can usually be cleaned with paper without any major problems. If you do want to put them in the dishwasher, this shouldn't be a problem. The information about this is often already on the packaging.
  • More unusual pans, such as forged iron pans, shouldn't even be cleaned with detergent in an absolute emergency. They are not dishwasher safe and should only be cleaned with a brush and warm water.
  • Now there are more pans out copper or cast iron. Just like the wrought iron pan, these are mostly not dishwasher-safe. Here you should always read the manufacturer's instructions for use carefully.
