How to clean discolored Tupperware
Unfortunately, Tupperware changes its color every now and then. Foods that contain carotene, such as carrots or peppers, lead to the unsightly discoloration. - Slight discoloration can be removed by rubbing in simple salad oil. You can also rub the Tupperware with oil first and then clean it in the dishwasher.
- Let the power of sunlight work! Simply put the discolored Tupperware outside in the sun and wait. This inexpensive alternative leads to the bleaching of the Tupperware.
- Another option is to clean it with hot water and baking soda. Fill the Tupperware jar with hot water and add one to two packets of baking powder, depending on how dirty it is.
- In some cases, rubbing the juice of a lemon can also help.
- Chemical bleaching agents such as laundry bleach or hygiene cleaners can also be used. Denture cleaners or sodium carbonate are also possible. Note, however, that these are chemically acting agents. It is therefore advisable to clean the Tupperware thoroughly after using these substances. Remember that you want to keep food in it!

Prevent discoloration of Tupperware

- Make sure that you do not have any carotene-containing food residues on other dishes when you wash them in the dishwasher.
