Pay with PayPal by direct debit

What you need:

• PC with internet access
• Valid Email Address
• Bank account

In order to finally register with PayPal and a account to open, some security hurdles have to be overcome. Your PayPal account is therefore not fully operational immediately after registration, as you have to verify your bank account first.

How to open your PayPal account

1. Open the PayPal home page. On the left you will find the orange button "Register now". Click on it.
2. Now you can choose your country in which you live and choose whether to use your PayPal account as "Buyer and private buyer" or as "On-lineDealers "want to use. Then click on "Register now".
3. You have to enter your details on the following page. This includes your e-mail address, your name and your address and an associated bank account. Choose your password well, the more secure the password, the more secure your future account with PayPal will be.

4. Finally, you have to confirm that you "consent to the processing and use of your personal data in accordance with data protection principles". To do this, check the box next to it. If you are unsure, you should definitely read the data protection principles. These are written in blue in the sentence, if you click on them, another page opens and you can read through the data protection principles and then decide whether you agree to them. However, you can only open an account if you do just that.

Verify your direct debit account

1. An email will now be sent from PayPal to your specified email address. To open your account, open the email and click on the link that PayPal will send you.
2. After you have clicked on the link, log in with your email address and the associated password. Your account is now open, but to take part in the direct debit process, you still need to verify your account.
3. This can take a few days. PayPal will transfer two small amounts to you in the next few days. As soon as you have received this, log into PayPal, click on "Verify Account", enter Enter the two amounts and nothing stands in the way of using PayPal by direct debit pay.
