How to get rid of superficial mold
- Put on the mentioned protective clothing before entering the room. In the case of a light, rather superficial infestation, as long as the mold does not exceed an area of half a square meter, you can use hydrogen peroxide in a concentration of 30%.
- First remove the wallpaper and seal it in a garbage bag that you can dispose of at your recycling center.

- Mix the lime plaster with water according to the manufacturer's instructions.
- Apply the plaster in several layers and make sure that you use coarse lime plaster on the inside and a finer grain on the outside. You should achieve a lime plaster thickness of about 10 mm on the wall.
- Make sure that the lime plaster is only allowed to dry slowly, so keep the plaster slightly damp for about three days by wetting it.
- Then apply lime smoothing to achieve a smoother result.
- You can no longer wallpaper a whitewashed wall, but paint it with whitewash paints. The lime paints are applied several times to achieve an intense color.
Finding out the cause and remedying it, if necessary by a professional, is even more important than thoroughly removing mold from the wall. If you live for rent, inform your landlord about the infestation and discuss the further process with him.
