Finding causes of mold

  • In most cases, mold is just a result of being too high humidity. If you are lucky, better ventilation will help. Make your window ventilate the entire apartment for ten minutes a day. To do this, open all windows and doors at the same time.
  • Set up a humidity meter. This should be between 40 and 60 percent. This will prevent moisture from condensing on the walls. Mould can grow well in such places.
  • If some corners become moldy despite optimal humidity, the moisture is probably coming from outside. Use a special moisture meter to check whether the wall contains water. If so, a craftsman must check whether there is damage in a pipe, in the roof or in the wall insulation. After repairing this damage, you can successfully fight the mold.

Remove the fungus from the corners

  • As a first measure, if you find moldy corners, you can apply hair lacquer or a similar spray to the walls. This binds the mushrooms' spores and prevents you from inhaling them.

  • Wet walls in the apartment - how to act correctly

The reasons for wet walls can be many. From incorrect ventilation to ...

  • If the wallpaper is only covered with black spots, but does not peel off or curl, you can then simply paint over it with a special paint.
  • If the wallpaper is already badly attacked or the fungus is already standing out from it, you have to remove the wallpaper and stick new ones on. In this case, it makes sense to soak the wall with a fungicide beforehand and let it dry well.
