Alienation in art

Abstract art is very popular. These have their origin in surrealistic images that seem beyond reality like a dream full of alienation.

Interesting facts about surrealism

• Surrealism developed out of Dadaism and originated in Paris, where it was an art movement that rose against the bourgeoisie.
• Famous representatives of two different forms of this art are Salvador Dalí, of perspectives alienated and incompatible things combined, and Joan Miró, with whom any realism avoided is.
• The term "surrealism" goes back to 1917, when it was used in the subtitle of a play by Guillaume Apollinaire.

• Draw a figure in broad outline, perhaps with strokes that are too thick. Do not proceed proportionally and paint some parts of the body oversized, e.g. B. an eye or ear. You can also distort the geometry or simply move it to another location.
• Paint over the picture with expressive strokes and Colours, or draw geometric shapes over it.
• Easily combine different objects with each other, e.g. B. with pictures from a magazine that you combine in a wild collage.

As you can see, there are many ways to use alienation in art, just let your imagination run wild and try things out that might seem absurd at first.
