Pack the laptop well
- Check that the cardboard box in which you intend to send the laptop in the mail is sturdy and has no tears or holes. If it does, use another box.
- Open the cardboard box from above. The top is the widest side so that the laptop can be put in with the correct side up for shipping.
- Take individual pages of newspaper and roughly crumple them up to make good cushioning material. If you press too hard on the paper, it will no longer be able to absorb bumps. A little air should therefore fit in between.
- Line the bottom and side walls of the box with foam, then place your homemade cushioning material down in the box. Make sure that the cushioning layer is nice and thick. You can also use other cushioning material such as bubble wrap or packaging chips. Make sure that the chips are tight enough so that the laptop cannot move back and forth during transport.
- Now put your laptop in the box. Press it a little into the padding material to ensure a secure hold. You also check at the same time that you have enough pad have put in.
- Before shipping, fill the package up to the top with cushioning material. When closing the box, it is okay to apply a little pressure.
- Close the lid with your hand and do the wobble test: Gently shake the package back and forth. If nothing moves, your laptop is safely packed. If you do, add a little more cushioning material until the laptop is shake-proof in the package.

Send the package by post
- Seal the openings of the parcel with a lot of parcel tape before sending it.
- Use the felt-tip pen to write "fragile" on several pages of the package or stick on special stickers for fragile objects.
Always send your laptop with the postal package. In contrast to the small parcel or maxi letter, the parcel is insured up to a value of several hundred euros. If your laptop does not arrive, you can complain to the post office.
