Configure the webcam on Facebook
Thanks to the collaboration between Facebook and Skype, video calls are now also possible via Facebook. But before you can use this, you need to configure your webcam.

Install software for Facebook
- To get to the software you need, click on a friend in your chat bar and then on the camera icon (start video call). Then a window opens with the installation link. Click on this and then install the software.
- After the installation is complete, the video call will start immediately. If this is not the case, you can now start a video call. Wait a few seconds after the start, as the connection must first be established.
- You should note that not all browsers currently support video telephony. Currently, the video call on Windows only works in Firefox and Google Chrome. Under Linux you have to use the Safari browser to be able to start video telephony with your webcam.
- No separate configurations for the webcam are required for video telephony, check only the image and sound quality of your webcam and the associated headset or yours Speaker. If you have used the devices for Skype Problem so far, nothing stands in the way of using them via Facebook.

Configure the webcam to share videos
If you want to share your videos with others, you have to consider a few settings.
- Make sure you have the latest version of the Adobe Flash Player installed. If you have a Video share, but your webcam is not recognized immediately, click "Search for camera again".
- This will take you to the page for configuring the Adobe Flash Player. There you select the webcam you are using under the camera symbol. Under the screen symbol, the setting must be set so that Facebook has permission to access the webcam.
- Then confirm the changes and try to share the video again. If the sharing of videos via the webcam succeeds immediately, no special configurations are necessary here either.
