In order to distinguish and recognize humid and arid climates, you need to know what the two words mean. Humidity denotes a humid climate, while an arid climate is dry.

Recognize humid climates

• A humid climatic zone is a humid climatic zone. Basically, humid means that the precipitation is higher than the evaporation rate. Would you like B. put a bucket of water outside if it would eventually overflow.
• In simplified terms, a humid climatic zone can be identified by comparing temperature diagrams with precipitation diagrams. If the precipitation curve is above the temperature curve, it is a humid climate.

Characteristics of arid areas

• The opposite is true for an arid climate. A bucket of water exposed would eventually be dry. Because the evaporation rate is higher than the amount of precipitation.

Furthermore, you can distinguish even more finely. In a partially humid climate, precipitation is greater than evaporation for six to nine months of the year, and in a fully humid climate for ten to twelve months.
