Crack a safe without a code

For the very sophisticated and puzzle lovers, there is a method to open safes without the code: the old-fashioned way, by listening for a clicking sound.

Turn the number wheel one step at a time and listen for the click. There are 99 quiet clicks and one that is slightly louder and more noticeable. When you hear that loud click, you've found the right number. This method may take some time, and you can usually find the solution much faster by searching for the correct combination or code below.

Below we will describe the exact location for each chapter and each safe and list the correct code to open the safe.

Chapter: Jackson - The Patrol

• Location of the safe: In the office of the supermarket, at the back.
• How do you find the safe code? The clue is in a letter that is located very close to the safe: It is the month and year in which the "good boy" became employee of the month. In the hallway in front of the room there is a picture gallery of the employees of the month, one of which is a dog - the good boy - for July 2013, 07.2013 that is.

• Safe Location: In the vault of the Westlake Bank, which you can find in the left/west part of Downtown Seattle. Note: Five runners and clickers await you in the bank.
• How do you find the safe code? In the room with the lockers in front of the safe, you will find a bag on the floor next to a corpse. The bag contains the bank robbers' plans, including the combination for the safe. This is definitely the biggest safe you will open in the game with a combination.

Chapter: Ellie Seattle Day 1 - Center - Gate West 2

• Safe Location: At the WLF Hideout "Gate West 2" on Madison ST, between 4th and 5th Ave in the northwest of the map. If you look closely, you can slip through the gate. On the right you will see the safe with the words "Uses gate code".
• How do you find the safe code? The code is on the list of checkpoint gate codes that you can find in a trailer near the watchtower at the start on the way to Seattle. You must find this note to progress in the story.

Chapter: Ellie Seattle Day 1 - Capitol Hill

• Safe Location: There is a furniture or thrift store in the area with the traps. In the back room of this store you will find the safe.
• How do you find the safe code? The code is on the thrift store notice on the bulletin board. These are the numbers Telephone number, which is on the bathroom wall.
• The code: 55 01 33

Chapter: Ellie Seattle Day 2 - Hillcrest

• Location of the safe: In the second row behind the houses on the left, behind the barber shop, there is a garage filled with infected people and barricaded with a rolling container. The safe is inside.
• How do you find the code? In the kitchen across from the bar, to the left of the vet's office, there is a piece of paper with the combination. The number is right on the piece of paper.
• The code: 30 82 65

Chapter: Ellie Seattle Day 2 - The Seraphites - Apartment

• Location of the safe: In the bedroom of an apartment in a multi-story residential building, which you reach after the supermarket and the four-story high-rise building on the left. You need to climb over the van onto the canopy of the house and then jump to the right onto the second canopy. Break the window there to get into the apartment.
• How do you find the safe code? The code is the wedding date of the couple who lived in the apartment. You'll find out by looking at the wall calendar that says it's your 30th birthday. Wedding day was October 8th, 2013. Subtract 30 years from this date to get the code.

• Location of the safe: In the last few meters to the hospital, in the pharmacy on the left side of the path, in the back room, which you reach through the hole in the wall.

• Safe Location: At the beginning, when you're escaping with Manny and Mel, you'll come to a trailer. Opposite is a warehouse where the safe is located.
• How do you find the safe code? The clue is in the caravan, in a letter to Marta, which says that the winning number for the big win is the code. The winning code in question is clearly marked on the notice board next to the desk.

Chapter: Abby Seattle Day 1 - Enemy Territory

Chapter: Abby Seattle Day 2 - The Shortcut

• Location of the safe: In a residential building with several apartments. They come into the apartments via the side of the highway through the window. The safe is in the bedroom of this apartment.
• How do you find the safe code? They find a letter that went back and forth between two neighbors. At one point it says that the code is the two apartment numbers together. So go out into the hallway and look at the apartment with the safe - 302 - and then the one right next to it - 304.
• The code: 30 23 04

Chapter: Seattle Day 2 - Downward

• Safe Location: After landing in the pool, walk through the fitness area to the counter in the back. The safe is there.
• How do you find the safe code? You will find a note in the Orchards juice bar on the floor that says the WiFi password is the safe code. Go back into the fitness area towards the pool and look at the wall where there is a poster with the WiFi password. This is your code.
• The code: 12 18 79
