What you can do against boredom

The question of what to do often arises because boredom is not a pleasant feeling for very few people. This can be changed by trying to eliminate the negative that weighs on the word and at the same time the feeling of boredom.

  • You can turn a boring day into a short vacation, on which there are absolutely no duties to be fulfilled, only your own needs are met. In order for this short vacation to be a success, all "disruptive factors" such as the telephone, cell phone, doorbell should be switched off and, if possible, the blinds of the apartment or house should be lowered. So you can z. B. Start the day with a hot bath, or sleep in late, pamper yourself with an exquisite breakfast, drink a glass of red wine in the middle of the morning, or read a book undisturbed. There are practically no limits to the imagination, the main thing is that you feel good about it.
  • If you can't enjoy boredom in this way as relaxed idleness, you can fill it constructively and immediately start putting long-cherished plans into practice. More physical fitness, a better body feeling? Perfect for a boring day. Get up immediately, drink a large glass of water, put on your shoes and walk around the block for a short or long walk. The nice thing about it is that it costs nothing and, on the contrary, the time is not wasted on bored idleness.
  • If you feel good after the walk, it would be a good idea to continue straight away. How about a healthy eating plan and going shopping right after that? The method of putting long-cherished plans into action immediately is of course not only applicable to fitness and nutrition, but also to many other areas. Sort CDs, clean out wardrobes, put together flea market items. Most of the time, tidying up and sorting work has the pleasant side effect that one thing spills over into the other, and so quickly entire basement shelves or kitchen cupboards are clean, just as you would have them for a long time before boredom wanted to!
  • Very spontaneous people sometimes make large-scale decisions against boredom, e.g. B. the renovation of a room. Here it is important to first create a realistic schedule. The clearing out and measuring of the room, calculating the need for Colours, Wallpaper, etc. The time for the material procurement is to be taken into account as well as the actual work, the subsequent clearing and possibly the decoration. By the evening of that day you are guaranteed to have forgotten the boredom of the morning, if not, you will be glad it was there.
