We humans aren't the only ones who enjoy a culinary way of cooling off on hot days. Our cats also appreciate delicious ice cream. This article presents three recipes made from species-appropriate ingredients.

Ice cream made from cat milk

There won't be many cats who refuse milk. However, the lactose contained in conventional milk is a problem for many cats' stomachs. Fortunately, there is special cat milk that you can use to make delicious ice cream for your cat. As with the following recipes, it is best to use an ice cube tray. Not only does this make preparation child's play, but you also have the optimal portion size for your little cat's stomach at hand.

Ingredients and preparation

For an ice cube tray you need 200-300 milliliters of cat milk, preferably from the small tetrapak. This is the best way to portion it out. Simply put it in the ice cube tray and freeze, and the delicious cooling is ready. It's best to freeze the ice cream overnight or at least 4 - 5 hours.

Ice cream made from chicken or beef broth

This is also a recipe that will certainly provide your pet with a delicious way to cool off.

For this you need:

  • 1 beef marrow bone
  • Alternatively, 200 grams of chicken from the supermarket
  • 1/2 liter of water
  • Optional small cat snacks
  • Cat breathes quickly - this is how you can help your four-legged friend in the heat

High temperatures in summer and a lot of sun can be hard on your cat. If the cat is at...

This is how the ice cream is prepared:

  1. Bring the water with the bones to a boil.
  2. Let the whole thing cook for an hour over medium heat and then discard the cooking.
  3. Allow the broth to cool and then pour it into the ice cube tray.
  4. If you want, you can put two to three small treats in each compartment Cats give.
  5. Here too, it is best to freeze overnight or at least 4 - 5 hours.

Please do not feed the heated bones to your cat or dog if you have one. Heated bones can splinter, causing internal damage to pets.

Ice cream made from wet cat food

This is a third way to serve your cat a tasty treat.

You need the following ingredients:

  • 200-300 grams of wet food, preferably of your favorite variety
  • A small cup of water as needed
  • A blender

This is how this variety is prepared:

  • Place the wet food in a bowl.
  • Process it with the hand blender into a fine, spreadable mass. If necessary, add a little water to achieve the desired consistency.
  • The mixture is then placed in the ice cube tray and, as usual, frozen overnight or for at least 4 - 5 hours.

A teaspoon is best for filling the mixture into the ice cube tray.

What else should you consider when feeding?

Before you serve the cat ice cream to your cat, let it thaw a little. This will protect your cat's stomach from too much cold. Cat egg is suitable as a small, cooling snack and should therefore not be eaten straight away for breakfast. The amount of 1 to 2 ice cubes should not be exceeded, otherwise cats may react with stomach pain.

I wish you good luck with the preparation and your cats a good appetite!
