- Start growing the morels in the fall. To do this, dig a 30 cm wide and deep hole that should be around 60 cm long.
- Choose a shady spot, if possible under a tree.
- The earth should be very nutritious. Otherwise, you will have to add beef mulch and sawdust.
- If you have dried morels, you have to chop them up first, for example with a mixer.
- Then soak the morels in lukewarm water for about half an hour.
- Put the morels in the soil and mix in plaster of paris and lime. Now we have to wait and see. If it doesn't rain much, you can water the morels a little.

More information about breeding
- You can also use the Internet Morel starter cultures order. But stick to the instructions for use so that breeding succeeds.
- The starter cultures come into the humus-rich soil and are covered with it.
- With a little luck, the first morels will grow in the coming spring. But don't lose patience even if you didn't get any results in the first spring.
- Dig up the soil every six months and add nutrients like charcoal ash and coffee grounds.
- Small fruiting bodies can also grow in the second year. Therefore, examine the earth for golden yellow, bulbous structures. It can take up to three years to finally achieve success.
- Remember that the bed should never be completely dry during this time.
Breeding morels is therefore successful if you have enough time and patience.
