Frequent washing impairs the protective properties of cut protection trousers in the long run. Nevertheless, every now and then, and more often with heavy use, a wash is necessary.

How to wash chainsaw protection trousers correctly

  • In order to keep the wear and tear as low as possible, wash your trousers rarely. After 20 to 40 washes (depending on the model) you can no longer rely on the cut protection effect and you have to buy new pants.
  • In principle, branded chainsaw protection trousers can go through various washes before the fibers are actually damaged. The fibers then lose their elasticity and become matted. It is possible that the chainsaw protection trousers can no longer withstand a deep cut. Don't let it get down to it, change your clothes in good time.
  • Do not use the spin cycle. Skidding is a particular strain for chainsaw protection trousers. Due to the violent forces, the cut protection inlays can be clearly visibly deformed, so it is logical that the trousers no longer offer any protection.
  • In addition to not using the spin cycle, the washing temperature also plays a role. Select the lowest possible temperature; with light soiling, a 40-degree wash is sufficient for cleaning.

How to dry the safety clothing

  • You should not use a dryer if you have enough time to dry. Instead, wring the pants briefly and dry them in the traditional way.
  • If possible and you ensure good ventilation, dry your chainsaw protection trousers lying down and not hanging up. This type of drying is particularly gentle on the cut protection fibers.
  • The cut protection effect is of course also reduced with the first real incision. Then you should replace the pants anyway. Washing the trousers would also damage them.
