The color pink is difficult
- If you mix red and white acrylics, you get a shade that is pink, but most of the time it doesn't look as bold as you'd imagine the shade of pink to be. You're more likely to speak of baby pink or piggy pink, and at best use it to paint something for a baby.
- Another characteristic of the color "pink" is the blue cast of the red. So you should mix in some blue to make it pink.
- Depending on the shade of purple, you could also mix purple with white acrylic paint. you need to add some more red.
- The color "brown" is an absolute insider tip. Brown is not a well-defined color, it is just quite dark. When you mix brown with white, it becomes clear which color is behind it. Some browns are dark burgundy and combine with white to create a strong pink.
Trying is better than studying mixing acrylic paints
It is said that pink contains more white than red, but since red acrylic paints usually also have one White, you often get a light pink shade with a 1: 1 mixture, but not one strong pink.

- It is best to first test how much white you need to stir in a small amount of red acrylic paint. If the shade doesn't look pink enough to you, stir in some more blue or purple. - Only then mix a sufficient amount of the paint, you know the mixing ratio from the test. Important: Nobody, not even the best electronics, can mix a color exactly. So you definitely need to mix enough pink acrylic paint that you can paint the whole area.
If you want to do a second coat of paint over the first, you can mix in new pink, but again enough for the entire area that you want to paint in pink.
