VIDEO: Make stars from strips of paper

You can make small ones from just one strip of paper Stars handicrafts that look particularly decorative as table decorations.

Fold the basic shape of the stars

  • Cut a strip of paper that is about 30 cm long and 2 cm wide and lay it horizontally in front of you. Measure 2 cm in the middle of the strip and mark it.
  • Then fold the ends of the paper strip diagonally upwards on the left and right side so that they cross exactly in the middle of the measured 2 cm. This results in a model whose underside is reminiscent of a pentagon and in which the ends of the paper strip protrude to the right and left at the top.
  • Alternatively, you can put a knot in the strip and slowly press it flat.
  • Then rotate the model that you want to fold the stars from. Here you can see the strip below where you measured the 2 cm. This lower strip serves as a small pocket in which you can put the end of the strip further back. If this is too long, cut off the protruding end.
  • Bascettas - make your own origami star

Bacettas belong to the more demanding folding works. But if you can figure it out ...

  • Then fold the other end around the pentagon until you can slide it into a similar paper bag. The basic shape of the stars is now ready - a pentagon.

Fold the model out of paper strips into a star

  • Take the pentagon made of paper strips in both hands and try to slightly press the five edges in the middle. This works particularly well if you use your fingernails to help and hold the center of the star.
  • As a result, the prongs of the stars slowly emerge from the corners of the paper strip model. The more you slowly press in the edges, the more the center of the star rises until your model has the desired look.
  • In particular, with somewhat thicker strips of paper - for example made of cardboard or cardboard - the stars also appear three-dimensional and can be easily folded.
