The nudging function is controversial

Facebook has all sorts of functions. Some of these functions can be annoying in the long run if they are used too often. It's all too good that Facebook has the option of turning these functions off or off so that you don't receive any further notifications.

While some users can't get enough of it, others find this option just plain silly and annoying. Unfortunately, Facebook has not yet taken into account the wish of many users to be able to switch this function off completely. However, it is possible for individuals to poke at Facebook contacts to restrict.

Simply switch off the nudge

  1. Log in. First log in to Facebook as usual and click on the "arrow" in the blue area at the top. There you select the entry "Settings".
  2. Blocking is not advisable. Of course, you could first block a person who is constantly nudging you in the Facebook settings. That friend would not be able to nudge you afterwards, but it would also prevent all other interactions.
  3. Disable notifications. If you don't want to block the person, you can at least get the e-mail-Deactivate notifications about the nudge. To do this, go to the "Notifications" section and click "Edit" under "E-mail address". Select either the item "Important notifications about you or activities you missed" or "Only notifications about your account, your safety and privacy" at. You will then no longer receive emails if you have been nudged, but other notifications may also be turned off.
  4. Nudging Facebook - this is how it works

The "nudge" function on Facebook is a popular and practical way to ...

  5. Alternatively, unsubscribe from email. Alternatively, you can click on "unsubscribe" at the bottom of an e-mail informing you that a friend has been nudged. This only prevents notifications for poking. In this case, you must have selected the first item "All notifications except notifications that you unsubscribe" in the Facebook settings.
  6. Prohibit nudging. Next you have the option to forbid certain users from poking again. As soon as someone nudges you, you will still get a hint about it on Facebook. You can read this notification, but you must not nudge back or remove the message with the small "x". This way, you will prevent your contact from poking you again.
  7. Nudging back is prevented. If he should now try to nudge you repeatedly, he would only receive a notification each time that you have not yet responded to the last nudge. You have thus deactivated the function for this person.

So you have to endure the initial nudge of friends before you can stop this. Simply ignore the messages for each friend for whom you want to switch the function off.
