  1. First of all, let someone else put the dress on, because this is the only way to correctly locate the passages that you need to change.
  2. Now turn to the back of the dress. There is usually a zipper that runs down the back towards the hips.
  3. Now measure a wide strip from the piece of fabric, which should be in a similar color as possible to the dirndl. This should be wider at the top and narrower towards the hips.
  4. Cut out the fabric according to the measurements and hem it.
  5. Sew beautiful dirndls yourself - this is how it works

Beautiful dirndls are still very much in demand - not only at the Oktoberfest, in ...

  6. Now sew Velcro on all 4 hems.
  7. Now you have a piece of fabric that can later be fastened over the zipper.
  8. Depending on the waist size, the zipper can now be left completely open or partially closed. The piece of fabric practically covers the zipper area.

Complete the maternity dirndl

  1. So that you can also wear the maternity dirndl during pregnancy, it is important that you now precisely mark the places on which the fabric will later be attached. You have to be very precise here.
  2. Now sew on the counterpart of the Velcro fastener exactly on the marked areas. Of course not across the zipper, otherwise you can no longer open it. So leave this position blank.
  3. At the end you have a kind of "V" optically - just not pointed, but flat at the lower end as a piece of fabric - and the Velcro strips used.
  4. Now you can put the piece of fabric on the back area and thus cover the zipper. This leads to a widening of the dress.

The maternity dirndl is ready! After pregnancy, you can remove the Velcro strips attached to the dress - and the dress will have its normal width again.
