Timmy sew the sheep himself - instructions

  1. First, find a picture as a template for your cuddly toy and print it out in the desired size.
  2. Use the template to make an initial pattern for the individual parts required, i.e. body, head, arms, legs and ears. Make the changes you want and bring Timmy the sheep into the position you want on the paper.
  3. Cut out the individual shapes and transfer them to the back of the fabric with tailor's chalk.
  4. So that Timmy the sheep looks really chubby later on, you should, if necessary, add some fabric on the outer edges.
  5. Cut out the pieces of fabric and place the two parts for the body, head and limbs on top of each other, turned inside out. So that nothing slips or gets mixed up, you should fasten the pairs together with pins.
  6. Sewing a cuddly toy - this is how babies can do one

Cuddly toys are important companions. They give comfort, help with sleeping and ...

  7. Sew up the edges, leaving the area open that will merge into the body of the cuddly toy.
  8. sew Put your eyes on your face and apply all parts.
  9. Attach the ears to the head first, then the head to the body. If you have decided on cotton wool as the filling, now fill the head.
  10. The next step is to add the arms and legs.
  11. Fill everything and seal the last seam as well.

Tips for the cuddly toy

  • Use polyfill, stuff the limbs as full and tightly as possible, this gives them stability. To prevent the filling from warping, you can insert a simple layer of fabric between the limbs and the body
  • Even when filling with styrofoam balls, a slight separation between the body and other parts makes sense. However, you should avoid filling the pieces of fabric and then sewing them up completely - this will look kinked later.
  • Do not sew the eyes tight until you have tried filling the head. This is the only way you will be in the right place later.
