End the PowerPoint presentation with an effect
Many listeners find a PowerPoint presentation boring and then don't even notice the last slide. The attention has then already waned. It doesn't have to be - especially since this page should contain all the important information - such as name, subject, contact details, sources and information on further information options.
Work with effects and start your presentation by opening the curtain and end it by closing the curtain.
- To do this, go to "Insert" and insert a "New Slide".
- Then click on this slide and call up the “Slide design” command in the “Format” menu item.
- Select the template "Curtain.pot" in the right-hand bar and select "Apply to selected foils".
- Then right-click on slide 1 and select "Slide transition" from the context menu.
- A new column opens on the right in the window, in which you “Open vertically” and select a slow speed.
- Proceed in exactly the same way for the last slide. Instead of the step "Open vertically", select "Close vertically" here. You end your presentation effectively.

Let the last slide stand effectively
If the conclusion of your PowerPoint presentation contains important information that should be remembered by your audience, you can leave it as it is.
- To do this, go to the last slide and select the “Slide transition” item in the “Slide show” menu.
- Remove the checkmark for "Automatically after x seconds" and instead set it for "On mouse click".
- Your page will stop until you click with the mouse. Your listeners can take in the information in peace.
