The divorce cost is a significant expense

• The first reference value for determining the amount in dispute is the net income. This is multiplied by three. If one of the parties earns 2,000 euros a month, the other side 3,000 euros a month, that adds up to 5,000 euros. The first calculation basis for the divorce costs is therefore 15,000 euros.

• If you take up the example above and assume a monthly mortgage rate of 700 euros with one of the parties, the amount in dispute is as follows: 15,000 euros on the basis of net income plus 3,500 on the property, so the court asks, minus 700 euros in interest and repayment, 17,800 remain Euro. That would be the cost of the divorce now.
• The amount in dispute is reduced by 250 euros for each child.
• The value of the pension adjustment is set at at least 1,000 euros for the amount in dispute. For each claim, the amount in dispute, and thus the divorce costs, increase by 10% of three times the net income of the respective party.
