Facebook: Chat messages are not arriving
On Facebook, you can contact your friends directly via the chat. However, if your messages do not arrive, this is mostly due to the settings.
When the chat messages are your friends not on you Facebook you should first check your settings. If you are not shown as "available" in the chat, you will not be able to see any messages in the chat window. You will then receive this in your private messages.
Adjust settings for Facebook chat

- If "Go online" is displayed as the last option, click this to be available in the chat again. You may also have blocked certain people in the chat so that they cannot write to you, which means that the messages will not arrive.
- To unblock people who have been banned, click on "Advanced Settings". If people or groups are displayed here, they will not be able to send you any chat messages. You can remove the person from the list by clicking on the "X" in front of the person concerned.
Refresh browser if messages don't arrive
- If the above-mentioned settings have been changed and the messages still do not arrive, it is advisable to update the browser.
- To do this, select "Help" in the menu. Usually the option "Check for updates" appears here, which you select. If there is an update, carry it out. The browser will automatically restart so that you can then use the Facebook chat again.
- Note that Facebook itself gives recommendations for browsers that guarantee the use of applications and chat. If the problem cannot be solved with an update, use another browser recommended by Facebook.
