Correctly fill out the form for the business registration
Work independently? You can, but keep in mind that it is absolutely necessary to report your activity to the municipality. This works via a business registration. You have to fill out a pre-made form for this.
What business registration is
- Full-time and part-time, self-employed activities must be reported to your municipality by means of a business registration.
- The authority with which you have to complete this registration differs from state to state.
- After registration, your trade will be entered in the city's trade register.
- In order to register a business, you need a form that you can obtain from the responsible office.
- The fees for this registration vary from city to city. An amount of around 20 - 60 euros is to be expected.

You should bear this in mind when filling out the form
- You must register at the beginning of your work.
- Fill out the form thoroughly.
- Write legibly or fill out the form on your computer and then print it out.
- You do not necessarily have to hand in the registration to the authority in person. It is possible to send the document by post or fax. You will then receive a confirmation by cash on delivery.
- Make sure you have all the documents you need (e. B. ID card, special permits) must be attached as a copy.
- When filling out the form, you must answer truthfully.

When do you not need a business registration?
It is not always necessary to register a business. If you manage your own assets, are active in primary production (e.g. B. Forestry / agriculture, beekeeping, viticulture / horticulture or animal breeding) or as freelancer work, it is not necessary to register a trade.
Commercial admission requirements
In some trades, certain admission requirements must be met. These include, for example, taxi companies, nursing services, driving schools, craftsmen, brokers and many more. People who want to register this trade must be able to prove their technical knowledge and personal reliability. In some cases, certain spatial conditions must also be proven.
