The first steps before making a pencil box

In just a few simple steps, you can turn toilet paper rolls into a pen box

  1. Pick up the cardboard and a CD. With a pencil, draw a circle on the cardboard along the CD and cut it out; this will be the bottom of your pen box.
  2. Spread glue generously on the cardboard disc and cover it with colorful photo cardboard or beautiful wrapping paper to hide the cardboard.
  3. The three toilet paper rolls will now be tiered; to do this, draw markings around the rolls before cutting so that you do not accidentally cut at an angle. The first roll of toilet paper is shortened to about a quarter of its original length, which can later be used to store paper clips, for example. The second roll is cut in half and the third toilet roll remains in one piece.
  4. Now cut wide strips from the paper or fabric that are a little wider than the respective sizes of the rolls. Spread the glue generously on the toilet paper rolls and wrap them around. Any protruding lengths can simply be shortened; overlapping should be avoided.
  5. At the top and bottom of the toilet paper rolls, some of the paper or fabric should still protrude, cut these protrusions with scissors up to the edge of the cardboard. The edge must be smooth and there should not be any creases on the inside. Cut in until the material can be knocked in accordingly. Now fold the paper and glue it inside.
  6. Cut in until the material can be knocked in accordingly. Gently press the toilet paper rolls together until the glue is dry.
  7. Set up the rolls and apply glue all around the top edges. The glue must of course not run down. Now carefully take your rolls and place them in the middle of the cardboard disc, now press the rolls onto the disc until the glue has dried.

At the end of the handicrafts you can add decorations to your pen box. Your completely individual pencil box that everyone will envy you is ready.
