Use tracing paper to trace

What you need:

• Old clothes
• Image to trace
• duct tape
• tracing paper
• pencil
• Drawing paper
• Graphite (lead)

Take a break with tracing paper - this is how it works 

1. Start the tracing process by placing the image you want to trace on a flat surface. Secure the picture at the corners with some masking tape.
2. Now place the tracing paper over this and also secure it with some masking tape. Make sure that the corners of the picture match the corners of the tracing paper before you fix the second sheet in place.
3. With the help of a sharp pencil you can now transfer the outlines of the picture onto the tracing paper. To do this, simply draw all lines as precisely as possible.
4. When you have finished tracing, you should pull out the template and remove the adhesive tape from both images.

Transfer the traced drawing 

Then you can start transferring what you have traced. Now use graphite to prepare the image that you transferred onto the tracing paper with a pencil and ready to transfer it.

1. Turn the tracing paper over so that the painted lines are on the back. Now start with the graphite, or the lead, evenly on the back of the tracing paper to hatch over the traced lines. To do this, paint strokes across the lines from right to left and press medium hard.
2. Now place the area to which the image is to be transferred on a solid surface. Use drawing paper, for example. Secure this with masking tape.
3. Tape the tracing paper to the drawing paper. The side that you previously blackened with graphite must lie on the drawing paper.
4. Then you have to trace the lines of the traced image again with a pencil in order to transfer them. Press down firmly and sharpen the pen regularly.
5. After you have removed the tracing paper, you can look at the finished drawing and touch it up if necessary.

Note that working with graphite can quickly stain your clothing. Therefore, at best, use old clothes that are allowed to get dirty.
