Fold the envelope yourself with a DIN A4 sheet

You can easily make an envelope yourself. All you need is an A4 sheet of paper and possibly a little sticky tape.

  1. Place an A4 sheet of paper lengthways in front of you. Depending on the Swiss Post's occasion, the paper can also be colored.
  2. Now fold the sheet in half and then unfold it again.
  3. Bring the lower left and also the upper right corner of the sheet to the middle fold.
  4. Use your hands to smooth out the two triangles that have now been created.
  5. Folding technical drawings - you should pay attention to this

Technical drawings are usually larger than a DIN A4 sheet of paper. Therefore you have to do it in order to ...

  6. Now fold the lower edge of the sheet upwards so that it meets the lower edge of the triangle you created earlier on the right half of the sheet.
  7. The top edge of the sheet of paper is now also folded over, but downwards so that it meets the top edge of the triangle on the left side of the sheet.
  8. Now bring the right corner of the sheet up to the center line and insert it into the flap.
  9. Fold the left corner of the sheet from top to bottom and then tuck it into the corner at the end of the center line.
  10. Now you can turn the envelope over and write on it.

Prepare the envelope for dispatch

  • You can fix the self-designed envelope on the back, on the fold lines, if necessary with scotch tape so that it does not open.
  • This is particularly recommended if you want to send the envelope by post.
  • Now all you have to do is postage the envelope sufficiently and send it off.

In an emergency, you can make do with a folded envelope if you run out of envelopes. All you need is a simple A4 sheet of paper and, if necessary, a little sticky tape.
