If you have a lot of important numbers on your phone, it can't hurt to make a backup copy of it on your computer. But how do you get contacts from your cell phone to your PC? It's very easy and usually very quick. But you need a little understanding of computers.

This is how you get the contacts on the PC

• Most of the new cell phones come with a USB cable that you can use to connect your cell phone and computer. Just plug in the cable, open the folder on the PC and copy the contacts.

What to do with an old cell phone

If you still have a very old cell phone, you can neither connect a USB cable there, nor do they have Bluetooth. You only have two options.

• Do the work and copy off every single contact by hand. However, this can take a long time if there are many contacts.
• See if the cell phone's memory card is compatible with your card reader. Then it's very easy and quick.
