Create LED picture yourself

What you need:

• Plexiglass plate
• 6 wooden strips
• Iron / lead to weigh down
• LEDs

Make yourself an LED picture

LED images are a new trend. But if you want to buy them ready-made, you have to dig deep into your pocket quickly. But you can also just make one yourself.

1. You need a plexiglass plate of any size and a suitable stand.
2. For the stand, build a box from a few simple strips. This should be as long as the plexiglass plate and approx. 5 cm wide. It is important that you leave a gap on the upper side in which the LEDs can be attached and in which you can then insert the plexiglass plate.
3. To do this, nail the wooden strips together to form a box, with the upper strip approx. Should be 1 cm narrower than the bottom bar.

4. Put a piece of lead or iron inside the box so that the picture doesn't fall over too quickly.

5. Now it goes to the LEDs. For this you have to solder the LEDs with a series resistor. Now glue the LEDs into the gap of the stand with some hot glue. For a picture that is 30 cm wide, you should use about 6 LEDs.
6. Now take the plexiglass plate and the whiteboard marker and paint a motif of your choice on the plate. The LEDs illuminate the image you have painted on, and only the areas that you have painted with the whiteboard markers.
7. The nice thing about the pencils is that you can always renew the motif. Just wipe away and repaint. But that also means that the picture can be wiped away so easily. So set it up in such a way that it cannot be easily accessed.

Now all you need is a suitable place with an electrical outlet nearby and have fun with your new picture!
