How to sew the stuffed animal

Take the picture of the marmot, the ruler, the wrapping paper and the pen. First you will use it to draw the pattern.

  1. Draw the body (head and torso) of the marmot in one piece. Think of a seam allowance of 2 cm.
  2. Then draw the four elongated legs, tail and ears of the marmot.
  3. Now cut out the individual parts of the marmot stuffed animal.
  4. Pick up the fabric, pattern pieces, and pins. Use the pins, which should have colored heads to make them easier to find, on the fabric to pin the pattern pieces.
  5. Trace the edges of the pattern with tailor's chalk.
  6. One at a time, carefully cut out the fabric along the edges. Check beforehand that you have really left a 2 cm margin everywhere.
  7. Remove the pins and pattern from the fabric.
  8. Now use the pins to switch the hem around the individual parts. If you put the hem edge all the way in, you can save yourself the need to serge the edges.
  9. Now take the basting thread (white thread) and a needle and scissors to hand. Use basting stitches to sew the edge at longer zigzag intervals. This will help you with your sewing. Then remove the pins.
  10. Prepare your sewing machine according to the sewing machine instructions.
  11. First sew around the hem of the marmot stuffed animal, then pin the parts with pins one after the other and sew the individual parts of the stuffed animal with a straight, narrow stitch together.
  12. Finally, embroider the face of the marmot with the embroidery utensils.

Your marmot stuffed animal is ready!
