Dango pillows are a cute decoration, cuddly plush toys and a nice gift idea not only for fans of the series. How you can make a dango pillow yourself in six steps quickly and easily and what is required for it, you will find out in these instructions.

A dangopillow can fulfill numerous tasks, in the size of a tennis ball it can be used for playing, but in larger versions it can also serve as a plush toy, sofa cushion or even as a beanbag. Depending on what you want to use your Dango pillow for later, the size of the template, the type of fabric and the filling material should also be selected.

Make a dango pillow yourself

  1. Plush fabrics and fleece are suitable for a cozy dango pillow. If the Dango pillow is to serve as a beanbag later, a cotton fabric or soft microfiber can also be chosen. Fabric shops offer a large selection for this.
  2. Once the fabric for the Dango pillow has been selected, the appropriate templates can now be made. You need a circle and a triangle that is rounded on two sides, outwards. It is easiest to first draw a circle of the desired size on paper, as this is the base of the pillow. The triangle shape is required four times, so each triangle base can only measure a quarter of the circumference. For example, if the circle has a circumference of 36 cm, each triangle must have a base side that is approximately 9 cm long. Once the templates have been drawn and cut out, they are now placed on the fabric and traced.
  3. In order to be able to sew the Dango pillow cleanly, the individual pieces of fabric should be cut out with a sewing edge of about 1 cm each. Now all pieces of fabric are turned inside out, tacked together and sewn together with a sewing machine or a needle and thread. As a result, the seams are on the inside of the Dango pillow and can no longer be seen later. Of course, a seam must remain open so that the pillow can still be filled.

Fill and decorate a dango pillow

  1. Now turn the fabric cover of the Dango pillow inside out, and fill it with polyfill or styrofoam balls as desired. Very soft to full - the only thing that matters here is your own preference.
  2. Make ring pillows for the wedding yourself - this is how it works

The two gold rings for the wedding are best placed on a wedding pillow ...

  3. Once the filling is in the cover, all you have to do is sew the last seam. The blind stitch or mattress stitch is suitable for this, as these leave almost invisible seams.
  4. Of course, dango pillows also need eyes. These can be nicely embroidered before sewing the individual parts together. However, so that they really end up in the right place with the filled dango pillow, they should be planned as the last step. Since the dango eyes only consist of two black Knit they can be embroidered quickly and easily. And the Dango pillow is ready to cuddle, sit or give away.
  5. If the Dango pillow is also to be washable, a washable fabric must of course be selected. A zipper can also be sewn into the cover so that the filling does not clump together.
