if Google no longer searches as before, it is possible to update the browser, add-ons or the operating system. An update usually eliminates any errors. If a virus has crept in and is now blocking the search function, you should search for, find and eliminate it.

Suddenly, Google stopped searching and you might be redirected to strange websites. It is not uncommon for this to have something to do with the last time a program or other file was installed. You may have a virus or trojan on your computer.

If Google doesn't search Internet Explorter in the web browser
If the Google search doesn't work, it sometimes shows up by simply changing the address line. The actual search results are not displayed. If in Internet Explorer or the “Google Search” button suddenly stops working in Firefox, a look at the options can be the solution.
- Start Internet Explorer.
- First click on "Tools", then on "Internet Options" and finally on the "Programs" tab.
- To manage your installed add-ons, such as Google Search, click on "Manage add-ons".
- Go to "search provider" and look for an alternative Search engine to google, such as bing. Sit down Bing as the default search engine and confirm.
- Then restart the web browser and proceed again in the previous order. To conclude, this time again set Google as the standard search.
- After restarting the browser, the search with Google should work normally.
Alternatively, you can completely uninstall the Google add-on and then install it again.
