Many people set new goals for themselves at the turn of the year. This and that should be better or different. Some want to lose weight, do more exercise, or take more time with family. But most projects are given up very quickly and this is often because the goals have not been clearly formulated. If you z. The right formulation thanks to the SMART method

A good method for setting goals is the SMART method. With this formulation you can say exactly what a goal looks like and of course measure its success with it. The individual letters of the SMART method provide assistance in this regard.

  • The "S" stands for specific, so it should be formulated precisely and concretely. Not just: "I want to lose weight", but rather: "Until 31. January I lost 2 kilos ".
  • The "M" stands for measurable. So not: "I want to lose as much weight as possible", but rather "I want to lose 2 kilos".
  • The "A" stands for attractive or accepted. I really have to want and like my goal. "I will never eat chocolate again" will probably not be accepted in the long term by someone who does not like sweets. But: "I only eat a bar after lunch" is persistent.

  • The "R" stands for realistic. I can't lose 15 pounds in a month, but 2 pounds is realistic.
  • The "T" stands for terminated, so you should specify from when to when the goal should be achieved.
