Instructions for the correct maintenance of the spherical line

The globular line grows about 15 cm each year and can reach a size of up to 6 meters. The plant is also in great demand because of its valuable wood. It can be used in a similar way to tropical wood and, above all, it does not weather.

  • It is sold in bales from October to April, depending on the weather. As a potted plant, it can be bought all year round. Since the plant develops a widely branched root system, it is best to plant it in a single position in the garden, this is how it comes into its own. Planting in pots is also possible.
  • The Kugelrobinie should be planted in a well-drained, nutrient-rich and calcareous soil. The location can be sunny as it can also adapt very well to extreme heat and dry times. However, it is sensitive to stronger winds and should therefore stand in a sheltered place.
  • To ensure adequate ventilation and to avoid wind and snow breaks, you should cut the spherical line regularly. The tree canopy can be cut back by up to a third. The spherical shape does not have to be cut with the spherical curve, it retains it by nature.
  • You can purchase the Kugelrobinie in most garden centers and hardware stores. However, it is advisable to get the wood from a tree nursery, as the quality is better here in most cases. It should be remembered that all parts of the plant of the Kugelrobinie are poisonous, especially the bark and seeds.
