Apples are delicious and can be prepared in many different ways. As different as the recipes are, they all have one thing in common: the apples have to be pitted in order to process them further. Depending on what you want to do with the apples, there are at least two ways to cleanly core an apple.

How you core an apple correctly depends on how and for what you do it fruit want to continue using, whether for apple rings or for cake.

Core apples for apple rings

The best way to make apple rings is to core the apples with an apple cutter. So you don't need to cut up the sweet fruit.

  1. First, cleanly remove the apple's flower and stem with a knife. Then place the cutter at the base of the stem.
  2. Now you have to use some force and push the apple cutter into the apple until it comes out again on the apple blossom. Then carefully pull the cutter out again.
  3. The core housing is now in the cutter. Sometimes it can happen that small residues of the case remain in the apple. In this case, cut the apple into slices and carefully cut out the remains of the casing with a knife.
  4. Apple rings in the batter - a recipe

Apple rings in the batter are a delicious dessert with vanilla sauce or cinnamon and sugar, ...

Note: Before you core the apples and process them further, you should wash and dry them thoroughly beforehand.

Slice the apples and remove the casing properly

Another way to core apples is to cut them open with a knife and remove the casing.

  1. First wash and dry the apples thoroughly.
  2.  Then cut the apples in half and remove the flower and stem.
  3. To core the apples, quarter them. In this way you can cleanly cut the core out of the apple slices in a semicircle.
  4. You then process these further as required and cut them into thin slices for, for example Apple Cake.
