You can also use mild detergent for this and wash the part quickly at the maximum permitted temperature without rubbing or pulling. It should be more of an "expression". Then rinse well, no detergent residues must remain in the thong, which would stick the material, make it stiff and inelastic.

How you dry the thong is also important

• After spinning, hang machine-washed strings on the line or spread them out on a towel dry the end. Please do not wring the hand-washed ones! Gently squeeze them out, first in your hand, then in a dry towel, and then dry them in the same way.
• You should only put thongs in the tumble dryer for which this is explicitly permitted according to the washing instructions. It is better to choose the gentle program, this is usually recommended anyway. It is safer to hang up the quick-drying thongs.
