  1. Switch on the TomTom as usual; the start page appears for a few seconds. The display then either changes directly to the main menu or your last location is displayed. If so, just click into the display and the main menu will appear. Click on "Change settings" with the wrench symbol.
  2. In the settings of the TomTom you can change various things, in this case look for the button "Planning settings". This is located on the third page of the settings. You can get there by clicking twice on the blue arrow pointing to the right.
  3. In the TomTom's planning settings, you can tell the device how you are going to get around. In this case, click on “Always plan bike routes”. Then click on the “Done” button to confirm this new setting.
  4. A “Route summary” page now opens. Here you have to decide whether this overview in the form of a map should automatically close after 10 seconds or not. If you do not want to change anything, simply click on "Cancel", then on "Done" and you can immediately plan your route with the bike map. Or you can change the default setting and confirm with the “Done” button, then you end up at the “Toll settings”. Since you, as a cyclist, are certainly not driving on highways subject to tolls, you can Settings that you have already made for your car trips, confidently unchanged with a click on "Done" confirm.

  6. Please click on “Done” one last time and you can display bike maps with your TomTom and get into the saddle.
  7. If you switch from the saddle to the car again, please do not forget to reset the settings to the car as a means of transport in the manner described above. If you forget that, you'll be amazed at which field and forest paths your TomTom will want to guide you along when driving.
