What are nouns, verbs, adjectives?

Adjectives are a part of speech that indicates the properties of things, living beings and processes. Examples are: hot, quiet, funny. So you can say: “the hot meal”, “the quiet girl”, “the funny party”.

Verbs, in turn, are parts of speech that express actions, processes and states. Examples are: grow, be, run. You can form sentences like: “the grass is growing”, “the dog is big”, “the children are running”. Verbs can be conjugated. That is, you can define a verb by person and number (the number), e.g. For example: "I call", "he calls", "they call" etc. You can also conjugate verbs after the tense (time), e.g. For example: "I called", "I call", "I will call" etc.

In the German language there are also four cases (the case) in which the noun can be used. The nominative, dative, genitive and accusative. With question words like: "Who or what ???" for the nominative or "Whose ???" for the genitive, you can tell in which case you are using the noun correctly.
