Build a pulley

You can easily build a pulley yourself.

  1. Basically, every pulley system consists of a weight that you attach to a stable rope.
  2. It makes sense to attach the weight in such a way that you can exchange it for a heavier or lighter one at any time, depending on how the pulley system is used.
  3. Attach a coil to the ceiling (preferably on a ceiling joist). These are available in different sizes and can therefore be individually adapted to your needs, depending on what the pulley block is used for in everyday life.
  4. Around the spool put the rope to which you attached the weight.
  5. Pulley system - the calculation for laypeople simply explained

A pulley system is always good for astonishment. Seemingly immobile ...

  6. A hook or carabiner is attached to the other end of the rope so that objects can be securely attached and moved.
  7. You can expand this simple pulley system as you like and attach additional coils.

Use in everyday life

  • You can use a pulley block in everyday life, for example, to move bulky items from one stick to another.
  • This can be particularly useful when moving, because large closets, beds or couches can only be maneuvered with difficulty through the stairwell.
  • With a pulley system and the right conditions, i.e. a balcony or a free window without any obstacles underneath, you can pull the furniture up from the bottom or rappel down.
  • A pulley system can also be helpful if you want to move objects around the room, even if they are only large indoor plants, e.g. B. Palm trees.
  • Since the pulley system reduces the amount of force actually required, you can use it to move all types of heavy or bulky objects.
