  • If firewood is to be stacked on a house, shed, or garage wall with a roof overhang, pieces of wood must lie on the floor along the wall so that the wood does not lie on the floor. Put two pieces of wood, e.g. B. Square timber of 6 x 6 cm at a distance of the width of your cut timber and stack the timber on it at the desired height.
  • To prevent the pile of wood from falling over, you should anchor a plank to the wall with metal angles at both ends of the pile of wood.
  • If you do not have a roof overhang for dry stacking of your wood, you can put a construction timber above the stack, e.g. B. Attach a square timber of 8 x 8 cm to the wall with sturdy metal angles. You can screw on wooden boards, plexiglass plates or galvanized sheet metal from above. Please ensure that the rain cover is inclined sufficiently. You should also ensure that the roof structure protrudes sufficiently. The wooden shelter should protrude at least 30 cm above the wood.
  • If you want to store your wood in an open area, a wooden shelter may be superfluous, because the wood is then only covered with tarpaulins. Then protect the tarpaulin from being blown away or torn apart by strong winds by nailing the tarpaulin to a few pieces of wood.
