Can homework be graded?
Teachers don't just use written or oral tests to grade students. Homework can also be graded. But are teachers allowed to do that? In fact, homework serves as a means of learning and practicing content; however, a grade is unusual.
If homework is graded, this should be an exception.
Issues that are regularly graded are not allowed
Homework is used to repeat the school material again and in the classes reapply or re-apply acquired knowledge to transfer this to examples or other content. This means that homework is an essential part of acquiring knowledge. From time to time, however, students also forget the tasks that they should or should be doing at home. may not make this complete. Some teachers want to counteract this by assessing the assignments.
- In everyday school life it is therefore not so rare that homework is graded. Here, however, homework is not regularly assessed and censored.
- Even the work that has not been done may not be graded with a 6 all the time. This is what the regulations in many federal states provide.

Censorship is possible for homework in exceptional cases
- Although homework is usually not graded, there are exceptions here, too. Because only regular grading is not provided in many federal states.
- For example, if your teacher announces that certain homework will be censored after all, then that can be such an exception. Sometimes tasks that have not been completed may also be rated with a 6, for example if the students who completed the tasks are also graded. However, these must actually be exceptions (e.g. B. once every six months) so that teachers can do this.
