Anyone who has ever put together a closet knows how useful a blueprint can be. This does not only apply to cupboards, but can also be a good aid for a snow plow, for example. However, it can also be done without a plan if you only have a little manual skills at the start.

What you need:

  • 1 x hacksaw
  • 1 x steel pipe
  • 1 x round bending machine
  • 1 x internal thread cutter
  • 1 x external thread cutter
  • 1 x sandpaper
  • 1 x welding machine
  • 1 x metal paint spray
  • 1 x color varnish
  • 1 x rubber handle

Make a snow plow without a blueprint

For the snow plow without a blueprint, you need stainless steel sheet, which you can bend to fit. Then you need the right bracket to attach the handle. You will then need a little more paint to give the snow clearing device an attractive appearance.

  1. The main part of your snow plow, which you will make without a blueprint, is a 2 mm thick, 80 cm x 80 cm, sheet steel. This steel sheet is slightly rounded on one long side with a round bending machine. Then grind the material on the rounded edge in a width of one centimeter conically from 2 mm thick to 0.5 mm thick.
  2. Next, cut a 20 cm long iron pipe with a diameter of 3 cm. The tube has a material thickness of 1 mm. Cut an internal thread into this pipe, which will later be used to screw in the handle of your snow plow.
  3. In order to be able to screw in the stem, you first have to cut it to size. So take a suitable counterpart for your 20 cm pipe and cut it to a length of 150 cm. Then cut a 10 cm long external thread into the material at one end of the pipe.

The clearing device is painted

  1. After you have then welded the 20 cm pipe on the non-rounded long side, you can paint the snow plow, which you have now built without a blueprint.

  2. Before doing this, however, you should sand the entire part, including the handle, with fine sandpaper. When that's done, use cans of paint to spray a layer of metal paint.
  3. If you want to give the sign an additional visual upgrade, you can then apply a layer of colored lacquer. At the end of the handle you attach a rubber handle that you bought in advance at your trusted hardware store and then finish your work.
