Entertain: The picture freezes

Help if the picture gets stuck on Entertain

Entertain offers various functions in one: telephone, internet and television. These devices always interact with each other. To ensure that everything goes smoothly, you should ensure stable connections:

LAN connections are much more stable than WIRELESS INTERNET ACCESS, because radio signals can be disturbed more easily. Even if you don't cable like in the house, the picture freezes significantly less often with the LAN connection than without a cable.

If the Entertain picture freezes as soon as you switch on a device, it is usually due to an interfering signal that this device is sending out. Here, too, WiFi connections are more vulnerable. But this error has nothing to do with Entertain, it is due to the device that is causing it. Cell phones, radios, vacuum cleaners and other devices can also be the cause.

If you have only just received Entertain, you may already see which channels are available. Sometimes you can already see a picture, but it stops immediately. They are not yet activated and have to wait a little longer. Usually you will get a normal picture within a few hours. Take a look at your contract or the corresponding notification to see when you will be activated.

How to remove the picture disturbance

With the following steps you can usually prevent the picture from freezing again and again and eliminate malfunctions in Entertain:

1. Disconnect the router from the power supply, then the media receiver - and if available - bridges or power line adapters.
2. Close after approx. one minute back on the router.
3. Wait until it is online, then connect bridges or the powerline adapter. Finally, the receiver has to be connected to the mains again.
4. If Entertain is still not running without errors, call the help page Telecom and update the system firmware.
5. If the update does not improve the situation, switch off the WLAN access point on your Entertain router. Remove all LAN-Cable from the router except the one that leads to the media receiver.
6. Make sure to connect the receiver directly to the router from the DSL connection, i.e. not via switches, hubs or other devices.
7. If the Entertain error has been eliminated when only the receiver is connected, always connect an additional component one after the other and observe whether the error occurs again occurs.
8. If you now know which component is causing the fault, either do without it or try to eliminate the cause in another way. Repair or replacement of the component can help.

If none of the above leads to an improvement, you should report the problem to Telekom. In such a case, there is often a malfunction on the part of the provider.
