Who does not know this: The screen is on one table and the printer on the next, the PC has to be on the floor and the screen is in such a way that your throat hurts in the evening. You can change that! Just build a computer desk yourself.

What you need:

Trim the computer desk properly

You are making an oak computer desk with two Doors.

  1. First cut the base plates for your do-it-yourself computer desk. These plates will then also serve as small cabinets in which you can accommodate your PC and printer. Cut 3 cm thick oak to 85 cm x 60 cm four times. Then cut four sheets of the same material measuring 60 cm x 50 cm.
  2. In the 85 cm x 60 cm, drill four holes on each 60 cm side with a 5 mm wood drill 1 cm from the edge. The small cabinets are then screwed through these holes.
  3. Now cut the worktop from 3 cm thick oak wood to a size of 180 cm x 80 cm. So that you can build your own computer table with the screen a little higher, cut four 10 cm long oak rods with a diameter of 1 cm. These rods have a 5 mm hole 5 mm deep in the middle on the head and foot side.
  4. Then cut a 3 cm thick oak board to 50 cm x 20 cm. Drill a 5 mm hole in each of the four corners 1 cm from the edge - also 5 mm deep. Now take wood glue and paste it into the holes in the board. Then insert the dowels first and then the 10 cm round timbers.

  5. You can also use the central spacing of the logs on the 3 cm thick and 180 cm long worktop of your computer desk to build yourself. Then cut the doors from 1 cm thick oak board to 85 cm x 56 cm - twice. Then cut a stabilizing strut on 10 cm x 68 cm from 3 cm thick chipboard.

Your do-it-yourself PC furniture is taking shape

  1. Take your base plates and screw the 60 cm x 50 cm on the head and foot sides so that your two small cupboards are created. One on the left side, one on the right side, and that's exactly how you screw your screw hinges to one cabinet on the inside on the left and on the other on the inside on the right.
  2. Then screw your two 85 x 50 cm cabinet doors of your computer desk to the screw hinges to build yourself.
  3. When that is done, your computer desk will now also have the support for the worktop thanks to the two small cabinets. Simply lay the worktop on your computer desk to build it yourself flush and screw the worktop from the inside of the small cupboards.
  4. Then drill the marked holes on the top of your worktop 5 mm deep Put in the wooden dowels and glue everything to the 10 cm long logs including the space for the Computer screen. Finally, attach the door handles to the cabinet doors and your do-it-yourself computer table is ready.
