Technology has continued to develop in recent years, and many people are faced with the question: large screen or projector? When you have decided on a projector, you should also build a suitable screen for your projector yourself.

Build a canvas.
Build a canvas.

What you need:

  • Screw clamps
  • drilling machine
  • Beech wood
  • small steel angles
  • Bedsheet
  • Masonry drill
  • Dowels
  • Screws

Prepare the canvas

You're building a canvas wood and sheets.

  1. The first route takes you to your trusted hardware store, where you buy four 200 cm x 300 cm bed sheets, then you need small steel angles that are 2 cm wide and 5 cm long.
  2. In order to be able to hang up your screen for your projector, you need screw clamps, these are clamps that are provided with brackets for screwing. Then you should buy a saw and drill if you don't already have one on site.
  3. In addition, you should have 3 cm thick beech wood cut to a length of 2 by 300 cm and 2 by 200 cm and a width of 20 cm at the hardware store. Then you still need a 10 mm masonry drill bit with suitable dowels and screws.
  4. Now you should go to the place where you want your screen for the projector to hang later. Take a close look at the height at which the projector should project the image on the wall. At this height, mark two holes 260 cm apart. Then draw a third hole in the middle between the two holes.
  5. Build a TV wall yourself - this is how it works

In times when televisions are getting flatter and bigger, it's not at all ...

Set up the projection surface for the projector

  1. Drill the three holes on the wall where you want the screen for your projector to hang. Then peg the whole thing. The canvas will later be hung with the help of these holes.
  2. Take the beech wood boards and put the four boards together to form a rectangle measuring 300 cm x 200 cm. You use the small steel angles for this. The steel angles are screwed into each corner on the inside so that the boards are at right angles to each other.
  3. Then the small screw clamps are screwed to the 300 cm long beech wood boards. Place the screw clamps in the middle of the boards and at a distance of 30 cm from each other.
  4. Next, lay your four sheets flush on top of each other and then clamp them tightly into the screw clamps. Make sure that there are no wrinkles when hooping.
  5. If you've done everything correctly, you should now have a nice white screen for your projector. All you have to do is screw the three screw hooks into your wall, hang up the canvas and you're done.

The canvas is comparatively cheap to produce.
